get to know me
My journey into midwifery started earlier than most. I was just ten years old when my little sister was born, and a few years later I had the privilege of being present at the birth of my cousin. Those moments stayed with me. Somewhere between holding tiny newborns and watching strong women bring life into the world, I knew this was what I wanted to do. So by my mid-teens, midwifery already had my heart.
I entered healthcare through a Pathways to Nursing program in high school, completing a Certificate III in Aged Care and working as a personal carer at 17 (babies to grannies - I’ve seen it all). From there, I trained as an Enrolled Nurse before becoming a Registered Nurse, completing graduate programs in orthopaedics, urology and emergency nursing. I spent several years working across adult and paediatric emergency departments in busy metropolitan hospitals, where I learned to stay calm under pressure, think quickly, and care deeply - even on the toughest days.
While I loved the variety nursing offered, maternity care was always calling me back. Completing my Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery felt less like a career move and more like stepping into my true purpose. Since then, I’ve worked as a midwife across large metro hospitals, private hospitals, regional services and rural communities throughout Australia. Every setting has shaped how I practise and reinforced my belief in personalised, woman-centred care, because no two families (or births) are ever the same.
In recent years, I’ve seen firsthand how stretched our maternity services can be. Hospital midwives do incredible work, but limited time and resources can mean parents are left feeling overwhelmed, unsure, or simply needing more support than the system has capacity to offer.
That gap in care is what led me to create Fourth.
Fourth exists to provide calm, unhurried, culturally safe and inclusive postnatal care - offering continuity, education and genuine support throughout the fourth trimester. My goal is simple: to ensure women feel informed, confident, validated and held during one of the biggest transitions of their lives.
If you’re looking for compassionate, evidence-based care beyond the hospital walls, I’d be honoured to support you and your family during this special time.

a few fun FACTS
-
a woman I cared for throughout a long labour named her baby after me! (’Sophie’ was on her list already but I like to believe it was all me)
-
connecting with women and families and hearing their stories. I believe that taking the time to build a strong, trusting relationship allows for more personalised care and a more supported, meaningful journey. I feel it’s a true privilege to get to know people on a personal level during such an important time in their lives.
-
but I’m a big believer in intuition and listening to your inner voice. Our bodies are constantly communicating with us, and I believe there is real power in slowing down, paying attention to those cues, and trusting yourself to know when something feels right or needs support.
